Introducing: TuneCore and EarthPercent

Mother Nature is the greatest artist of all time, and TuneCore and EarthPercent are making it easy to donate royalties to her and save the planet through your music.

EarthPercent is a registered charity in England, Wales, and the U.S. that unleashes the power of music in the service of our planet. With more than $2.4 million granted so far, they’re creating meaningful change for the better. You can too.

How It Works

For any song you own the rights to and distribute through TuneCore, you can:

  1. 1

    Upload a new song

or select one of your previously released songs behind login.

  2. 2

    Use the TuneCore Splits function

choose “tunecore@earthpercent.org” as a collaborator on that song.

  3. 3

Decide how much you want to give

Once you’ve made this selection, that song will generate royalties which will flow to EarthPercent, for the Sounds Right Fund.

Where Do Your Royalties Go?

Funding is distributed to Indigenous and community-led nature protection and restoration initiatives in endangered ecosystems, with proven ecological impact.

Currently 11 projects in the Amazon and Congo Basins and the Colombian Tropical Andes are receiving funding. In 2026, new projects focused on ocean conservation in Asia-Pacific will be added.

That means your royalties generate the financial stability these initiatives need to plan ahead and deliver lasting impact around the world.

Brian Miller, Chief Business Officer, TuneCore

"As we navigate a new era in the music industry, it is our responsibility to act with sustainability in mind. In addition to helping artists succeed in a changing musical landscape, TuneCore is proud to help fund EarthPercent’s climate and nature initiatives and make it easy for independent creators to do the same. Artists have always used their music to stand up for what they believe in, and through this partnership with EarthPercent, they can now use their music to directly fund the environmental causes that are important to them."

FAQ

What if I change my mind or want to do this for a limited amount of time?

You have the ability to control management of this split - whether updating the % or removing it. As funding nature conservation needs long-term support to maximize impact for the planet, EarthPercent and TuneCore suggest a 12-month period.

What will happen with requests for licensing of the song?

Since royalties are only donated from your accumulated streams, this does not affect licensing in any way.

Can I tag NATURE the artist in my track?

Sounds Right offers a route for artists to release music that features sounds of nature in collaboration with NATURE the artist on DSPs, to feature on playlists, and sharing the recording royalties on a 50/50 basis. If you are interesting in creating and releasing an official Sounds Right track in this way, please reach out to contact@soundsright.earth

What impact will Sounds Right have?

Projected to raise $5M per year from royalties, corporate and individual donations for conservation projects and engage 200M individuals by 2028, Sounds Right will raise awareness of global ecosystems and deliver proven ecological impact.

Music fans want to see artists and music businesses do more on environmental issues; Sounds Right is an established, credible and tangible way to do so. It is artist-led, enabling the artist community to take positive steps by simply doing what they love – creating music and art – and empowering them to share the core messaging that NATURE deserves to be credited and compensated for her contribution to music.

Who’s behind Sounds Right?

Sounds Right is a Museum for the United Nations - UN Live initiative, in partnership with EarthPercent, AKQA, Spotify, The Listening Planet, VozTerra, Limbo Music, Hempel Foundation and Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Denmark.
